The MS 212 C-BE sits at the top of STIHL’s homeowner range, adding Easy2Start™ recoil assist and the Quick Chain Adjuster (“B”) to the already powerful MS 212 platform, so one gentle pull fires the engine and a thumb-wheel re-tensions the chain—no scrench needed. Its stratified-charge 2-MIX motor and long-life HD2 fleece filter cut fuel use and emissions by about 20% while stretching cleaning intervals up to five times.

By combining petrol-class muscle with push-button conveniences—spring-assist starting, thumb-wheel chain care, flip-top caps and low-vibration handles—the MS 212 C-BE lets you process a winter’s worth of logs or clear storm-fallen limbs quickly and comfortably without the weight or upkeep of a farm-grade saw.
Easy2Start’s spring pack cuts starter-cord force by about two-thirds, so most users can fire the saw with a slow, steady pull instead of a sharp yank.
The “C” denotes Comfort options; “B” is the Quick Chain Adjuster thumb-wheel, and “E” adds Easy2Start™ recoil assistance—together giving quick tensioning and low-effort starts.
The 400 ml tank typically powers about 45 minutes of mixed firewood cutting, and the 280 ml oil tank is sized to empty at the same time thanks to STIHL’s Ematic system.
STIHL rates the engine for 35 cm and 40 cm Light 04 guide bars in 3/8″ P pitch; an 18″ (45 cm) bar can be fitted in North America where ambient timber is softer.
Independent tests show 3.1 m/s² at the left handle and 3.7 m/s² at the right—well below HSE daily exposure limits for occasional users.
