The MS 271 C-BE replaces the classic MS 270 with a lighter, more efficient design that saves ~20% fuel and cuts exhaust emissions by ~50% thanks to STIHL’s stratified-charge 2-MIX engine. A redesigned Light 04 guide bar and narrow-kerf .325″ RM3 Pro chain raise cutting speed by about 20% while improving balance and reducing operator fatigue. At 5.6 kg the magnesium-case power-head delivers a class-leading power-to-weight of 2.15 kg/kW, ideal for all-day bucking and limbing. Long-life pre-separation air-filtration traps fine dust before it hits the HD2 fleece element, extending filter intervals up to five-fold, while the Ematic system and variable-flow oil-pump can halve chain-oil use. Side-mounted Quick Chain Tensioning, captive bar-nuts and flip-top bayonet caps let you adjust, refuel and get back to cutting in minutes—even wearing winter gloves.
